Static Assessment

Understanding how your feet distribute your weight provides important information to how your feet function and what the potential causes of abnormal function could be.

Just by standing on the pressure-sensitive mat, it is possible to identify how your weight is disributed across both feet. Ideally, your weight should be spread evenly across both feet, with 50% on each foot and 25% in each quarter - right forefoot, right rearfoot, left forefoot and left rearfoot.

The example below is of a severe varus footshape, where much of the area of the foot is simply not being used to distribute weight. Of the two feet, the left has the more severe varus deformity, and in this case it has only been able to carry a third of the overall body-weight, leaving the right foot to take two-thirds.
