My Story 12
I view this initial 6 month period as the time during which my entire body has learnt to adapt to its new foundations. From this point onwards, I will steadily be able to train my, biomechanically sound body to improve overall strength, stamina, flexibility and emotional well-being. With the new found self-confidence that is only to be expected from an improved posture, together with a very detailed understanding, from my own deep involvement in my situation, of how my body works I am left feeling able to achieve anything I choose. From experiencing the amazing physical and emotional transformation during the last 6 months, I have come to recognise what an amazing machine the human body is, and how it adapts, for better or worse, to its given environment. This has taught me the intrinsic value of a healthy, properly functioning body, and the least I can do in return is to conitnue to learn, adapt and develop to ensure that I always give myself the best possible chance of enjoying a happy, healthy life. I will need to wear my orthotics for the rest of my life, but I know that every physical step I take with them beneath my feet is actually another small step toward putting my body and my life back together. Without them, every single step poisons my system, my body and my life, and that is something I am not prepared to do.
